Mental Health Month was started in the U.S. in 1949 by the Mental Health America organization. Mental Health Month’s purpose is to raise awareness and educate the public about mental health illnesses.
Being healthy isn’t just about physical health, it’s also about mental health. It’s important to see the whole person and improve the health of our minds and bodies alike.
Help us raise awareness and break the stigma of mental health by educating yourself and others. Included below are links to share your story (anonymously if you would like), Hashtags to use and follow on social media, and our blog which will have weekly articles about mental health.
We also have profile photos and cover photos you can use to help spread awareness and be stigma-free, as well as informational sheets and graphics for social media posts.
Be sure to use the hashtags #StigmaFreeWV and #MentalHealthMattersWV
