Clarksburg, WV June 21, 2017 — The Imagination Playground Playroom Open House and Business After Hours events attracted many visitors to Highland-Clarksburg Hospital. Adults and Children alike were able to play with the Imagination Playground blocks and see the paintings the activities staff worked on for the playroom.
The open house featured an unveiling of a Jenkins Subaru mural that Highland-Clarksburg Hospital have installed as a thank you for Jenkins sponsoring the Imagination Playground Playroom. After the unveiling, there was a ribbon cutting officially opening the Imagination Playground Playroom at Highland-Clarksburg Hospital.
City Manager Martin Howe stated, “This is an outstanding display of community involvement from Jenkins Subaru to support such a great project to assist the youth. I commend Jenkins Subaru and Highland Hospital for their partnership.”
According to Brittany Conover, director of activities, The Imagination Playground Playroom helps the patients learn and grow.
“I want them to feel safe and to learn skills and to pretend with each other, build social skills. All those things that kids need to learn as they grow,” Conover said.
“So after today, it’s going to be a fun, exciting time in here for our children and adolescent unit. All the kids can come in and use their imagination and skill building for socialization skills. Help take their minds off of things that have happened and gives them a way to have an outlet,” said Shannon Putnam, Marketing Director.
The Business After Hours began after the ribbon cutting and conclusion of the Open House. Harrison County Chamber of Commerce members visited the hospital to socialize and learn more about the hospital.
